Discover the Artistry of James K. Papp

James K. Papp is a photographer and writer residing in Washington State. He is attracted to water features and the trees, hills, and skies that frame them. Being around water has been a major theme in his life since arriving from his native Alaska to attend college. After earning a degree in Transportation Geography, James worked for 40 years in marine shipping. During this time he enjoyed countless hikes along the mountain streams, lakes, waterfalls, and snowfields of the Pacific Northwest. James photographed his adventures in Kodachrome to share in slide shows back home. He eventually migrated to digital cameras and became interested in fine art photography. Workshops in Washington, California, and the Southwest helped him develop his skills. The lens became a magical portal to connect more deeply with the world, his art inspired by mystery and awe. Today James is immersed in his current creative project, Blessings of the Waters.
